I'm right here beneath the scars You're right here we've come so far Love and fear know who we are Left unclear, a rock round the star I went down to the coffee shop to find myself astray I thought and thought and couldn't stop today seemed like yesterday and the day before not so far, not so far away, the day before yesterday Cool breeze, pine trees sway Memories of those days You and me, light as feather, light as a feather I'm right here beneath the scars You're right here we've come so far Love and fear know who we are Left unclear, a rock round the star You and Carl were talking shop and the sun came out to play you talked and talked and couldn't stop let the topics fade, fade fade fade away There's a time of day when we all bend and we all break Turned the corner, waiter dropped a tray, drop in drop out drop in drop out and fade the day away they said you can go or you can stay, they said, deep breath and big wave Cool breeze, pine trees sway Memories of those days You and me, light as feather, light as a feather I'm right here (4x) I'm right here beneath the scars You're right here we've come so far Love and fear know who we are Left unclear, a rock round the star

Dizzy 04:08
Are you dizzy yet, ‘Cause you could walk away And how much could you get If you stayed one more day Just another day just another day, just another Down at the High Noon Passing one and two We pass it me and you There’s nothing left to do, It’s just another day, just another day, just another Day-- another day, cause you spent your pay on another day Somethings worth the wait But you just scratched the itch Waited to pay full price Smile and fake your nice For another day, for another day for another Crash it hit the ditch, Down on east wash ave When you tempted fate And you stayed one more day Just another day just another day just another Day--another day cause you spend your pay on another day Well are you dizzy yet? You could have walked away And how much did you get On that one more day

Broken Heart 04:37
First, last runner up Push comes to shove when you’re down on your luck First class, time is up Moving to slow, broken down from above You can only love this country with a broken heart Where do we go when we don’t know where to start Divided we stand and watch as it falls apart You can only love this country with a broken heart Nah nah nah x4 Sip of fresh air What lies beyond hyperbole You running to stay in shape No I’m just running I’m trying to keep up to date You can only love this country with a broken heart Where do we go when we don’t know where to start Divided we stand and watch as it falls apart You can only love this country with a broken heart X2 Nah nah nah x4 It goes quick and it comes fast Inundate with alternate facts Voices freed will overcome your greed Kept in check, the mass media in effect You can love with a broken heart Break down walls, and make a fresh start Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

Wilted 05:27
Come clouds in the sky Won’t you rain down on me And wash off the dirt so the world can see We could all be flowers if we got what we need And everyone would take it If it was free x3 Sky turned to blue And it smiles on you Soakin in sun, riding rays ride the breeze We could all have power if we stand up for we And together we could make it History, History, History Gone wild wicked weak Tell me how could it be That we could all be flowers if we got what we need You’re blaming the starved for biting hands that don’t feed I’m flawed and I’m fine on this land some call free And I’m tired of our times Wilted by greed 5x Come clouds in the sky Won’t you rain down on me And wash off the dirt so the world can see Sky turned to blue and it smiles on you Soakin in sun riding rays ride the breeze We could all have power, we could all be flowers x4 Wilted by greed x3 Come clouds rain down Sky is blue its smiling on you Ride the rays ride the breeze Gone wild wicked weak R I S E x4

It’s gonna be a long road home And I don’t know if we’ll make it It’s gonna be a stretch of the facts And I’m not sure we’re on the right track Long road home and I shared my load You picked me up and you carried me home Down my long road home It’s gonna be a hard days night And I’ll tell you in the morning It’s gonna be a deep breath day And you’ll tell me to be patient Long road home you can share your load I’ll pick you up and I’ll care you home Down your long road home Road is windy and you can’t be sure Took it all but you wanted more Headlights through the frosted air Looking back just to fix your hair Eyes fluttering eyes are fluttering Half a tank and we’ll be there, there, there Long road home we can share our load You picked me up but I’ll carry you home Down our long road home

When the newness wears off and the leaves wilt and drop And the grey thoughts start and you can’t make them stop I’ll be there I’ll be there you know I’ll be there Fallin’ with you, fall yes I’m fallin for you When the fire goes out and you can’t find the light And the coughing won’t stop and we stayed up all night I’ll be there I’ll be there you know I’ll be there Holdin’ you, hold, yes I’m whole when I’m holdin’ you Dancin’ with you Dancin’ with me Dancin’ with you Dancin’ with me When our hairs turning grey and we’re losing our site But we still have each other so we know that we’re right We’ll be there We’ll be there you know we’ll be there Dancin’ with you, and you’ll be Dancin’ with me Dancin’ with you and you’ll be Dancin’ with me

Waiting for the storm to blow through Wadin’ through my mind Watching the storm blow through you With you, for you, to you This too shall pass and brighter days will come at last Fought through a virus a tear torn Osiris, Osiris Hollow as a ghost Listening for truth for truth Holding in these four walls with you for you, to you, through you Feld trees turn a new leaf Tattered hope overcomes grief Hatred won’t tire us Rest easy Osiris Osiris This too shall pass and brighter days will come at last Victor of Horus, relinquish Osiris Drifting with the ghosts down river Descend on Isis wings Dreaming of a place down river with you, For you, to you, through you Waiting out the storm, wading through the time spent Watching the storm blow through you With you, for you, to you

about

The Day Before Yesterday is Old Oaks' first full band, studio release. The album carries a smooth acoustic, yet groovy vibe with charismatic, thought provoking lyrics. Moments of ripping saxophone solos over jazz progressions are contrasted by quieter solo 12-string guitar interludes. The intimate sonic atmosphere of this album is held together by a formidable upright bass performance and grooving drums.

The Day Before Yesterday is meant to be understood like a memory that's on the tip of your tongue. To dive deeper, it's a frequent feeling of "Ya, I just did that...oh wait that was like five years ago" but at the same time "Oh ya that was a long time ago....oh wait that was yesterday...or the Day Before Yesterday." Doesn't NYE 2019/20 feel like the Day Before Yesterday? It does to me.We hope this album holds some reminiscent moments for you.
